Unlike traditional extensions, AI Prompt Refinement does not maintain any remote databases, servers, or user-tracking accounts. Your data belongs completely to you.

Any configuration details or data you input are stored strictly within your Google Chrome sandbox:
- API Credentials: Your Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic API keys are saved 100% locally and securely in your own browser's Chrome storage.
- Synced Across Your Devices: We use Chrome's standard secure API (
chrome.storage.sync) so your saved settings and prompt libraries sync safely across devices linked under your personal Google Account. No third-party servers are ever involved.
4. Third-Party API Services
When you trigger prompt refinement inside your LLM interfaces (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or LMSYS):
- The extension makes a direct, secure HTTPS request from your local browser's background service worker to your selected AI provider's official endpoint (e.g., Google's Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic API).
- These requests use the API keys you provided. Your raw prompts are sent directly to the official provider endpoints and never transit through any external backend or intermediary servers.
- Please refer to the privacy policy of your selected AI provider (Google, OpenAI, or Anthropic) regarding how they process prompts sent via API keys.
5. Data Security
Because your keys and settings are stored locally in your browser sandbox, their security is backed by Google Chrome’s native security framework. To safeguard your API keys, we strictly adhere to Chrome Manifest V3 guidelines—containing no remote scripts, no dynamic evaluations (e.g., eval()), and no unsafe DOM injections.
6. Managing Your Data
You have full, unconditional control over your data:
- Viewing/Editing Settings: You can inspect, modify, or delete your saved prompt templates and API keys at any time via the extension's options page.
- Full Removal: Uninstalling the extension automatically and permanently wipes all local storage, settings, and cached keys from your device.
